At TSG Projects we have experience in installation of booster pumps and tank stands and below we will share some important Facts which you should consider when choosing between a booster pump and a tank stand.

FACT 1
TANK & STAND PACKAGE – No need for electricity for water to flow from the tank to the house as the system uses Gravity.
BOOSTER PUMP PACKAGE -- If there’s a power cut one needs to use a generator to pump water from the tank. Or have a solar system powering the booster pump.


FACT 2
TANK & STAND PACKAGE – Less pressure: Water supplied using gravity has less pressure compared to water supplied using a booster pump.
BOOSTER PUMP PACKAGE -- Water supplied via a booster pump has more pressure compared to gravity feed from a tank stand.


FACT 3
TANK & STAND PACKAGE – Low maintenance costs: Once a tank is placed on top of a tank stand you a guaranteed the system will work without any maintenance of the stand. TSG Tank Stands are supplied with 10 year warranty and last a generation without the need maintaining anything on the stand, maybe occasional repainting of the stand every 15 years.
BOOSTER PUMP PACKAGE -- Higher maintenance costs: A complete booster pump system is made up of various components from the booster pump, pressure control switch, and float switches. These components use electricity and due to power cuts, lightning, power surges and general wear and tear, you will need to repair or replace some of these components after at least 2 years from date of installation.


FACT 4
TANK & STAND PACKAGE – Limited heights: With a tank stand, you can only supply water to points, which are lower than the platform of the tank stand since the system uses gravity. For example a solar geyser on the roof of a double storey house, you will need a stand higher than 7metres in height for water to be fed into the geyser, such a stand will cost more than a standard 4m stand, which feeds into a single story ceiling geyser.
BOOSTER PUMP PACKAGE -- The 1hp booster pump has a head of 35metres meaning it can pump water up to a height of 35 meters. This can feed water into most 8-storey building.
